IPL 2025: Rajasthan Royals Respond to Match-Fixing Allegations with Strong Denial

For the Rajasthan Royals (RR), the 18th season of IPL is turning out to be a disappointing one. In eight matches, they have only two wins and six losses. The team is eighth in the standings and is eight points behind the leading Gujarat Titans (GT). RR’s last defeat so far came on April 19 when they lost in Jaipur to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 2 runs. Who would have thought that this loss would cause a big controversy.

Hint at Rigged Game 

RR needed to get to 181 to beat LSG, but in the end they suddenly conceded just 2 runs. This result was questioned by Jaydeep Bihani, convener of the Rajasthan Cricket Association’s (RCA) ad hoc committee. He hinted that the match looked like a rigged game. 

The RR was justifiably outraged by this opinion. In an official statement, the team called the allegations “false, baseless, and without any evidence” and emphasized that they were damaging to its reputation. The Royals also decided to escalate the situation and filed a formal complaint with Rajasthan’s Chief Minister, Sports Minister, and State Sports Secretary. They demanded immediate action against Bihani, calling his actions damaging to the franchise and the sport as a whole.

What’s Next? 

The fans were discouraged by the situation and are eagerly waiting to see how it develops. However, there has been no official reaction from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) so far. The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has not reacted to the scandal either. The silence of the official bodies only fuels the situation and makes fans and experts wonder what will happen next.
