IPL 2025: Dwayne Bravo Points to Low Confidence Among KKR’s Batters

Dwayne Bravo discusses KKR's struggles in IPL 2025

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lost to Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 18th season of IPL by 39 runs on Monday, April 21. This is the team’s fifth defeat in five matches in the tournament. It is seventh in the table and six points behind the leading GT. KKR’s mentor, Dwayne Bravo, commented on the reigning IPL champions’ unsteady game.

‘Low Confidence’

As Bravo pointed out, KKR’s batsmen have little confidence in their current performance. He emphasized that IPL is a tough tournament and if a team starts badly, the batsmen start having insecurity. According to the mentor, that is exactly what is happening now.

Fans and experts have had questions about the quality of the Eden Gardens pitch this season, but Bravo urged not to blame the pitch for anything. He rightly pointed out that the surface is the same for KKR and other teams. ‘You just have to play better, and in the match against GT, the opponents were objectively stronger,’ said the mentor. At the same time, Dwayne emphasized that the coaches should not reproach the players for not trying. On the contrary, the batsmen work hard in training and try to improve. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to support them.

What’s Ahead

In their next match, KKR will play Punjab Kings (PBKS) at home on April 26. They lost to the same franchise on April 15 by 16 runs, scoring only 95.
