Puducherry Signs Yadav from GT for Upcoming Season

Jayant Yadav signs with Puducherry team

Jayant Yadav, who currently plays for GT in the IPL, has decided on the team he will represent in the upcoming 2025-26 domestic competition. It will be Puducherry. This decision came after the 35-year-old cricketer received a No-Objection Certificate from his home, Haryana. Puducherry is the club he played for from 2011-2012 when he debuted at a first-class level.

Reasons behind the decision

Yadav intends to play in all three formats of the game, which is why he decided to join Puducherry, said Indian insiders. The last time he played for them was during the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy, when he took 28 wickets in 8 clashes.

Career highlights

Throughout his career at the highest level, Jayant has 90 clashes under his belt. He amassed 2,924 runs and took 265 wickets. Yadav also played for the Indian national squad. He has participated in a total of two ODIs for the Men in Blue (in 2016 and 2022, respectively) as well as six Test matches. In Tests he scored 248 runs and took 16 wickets.

Also, Jayant took part in 20 clashes in the IPL for Delhi Daredevils (now DC), MI, and GT. Currently, he is under contract with GT and will be playing for them in the 2026 season.
