RR Announce Rahul Dravid’s Departure

In the upcoming IPL season, the RR will have a new head coach. The franchise announced that Rahul Dravid is stepping down from the position. This marks the end of his second stint in the club. Previously, he had played for the squad and coached it from 2011 to 2015.
Miserable season
The 2025 IPL season was particularly unsuccessful for RR. The franchise managed to win only four out of 14 matches and finished ninth out of the ten squads. This was not the result the management had hoped for when they signed Dravid to a long-term contract in September 2024. But the club released a press release thanking the 52-year-old Dravid for his years of service and the results he brought to the team.
It is worth noting that Dravid was largely confined to a wheelchair for most of the season due to a leg injury sustained during a club cricket match. Regardless, RR will now be on the lookout for a new coach as they aim to win their second IPL title. It has been a long time since their first championship in 2008.
